Cygnet's New Social Hubs
The Social Hub project is an ongoing initiative within the wider Cygnet group founded by Expert by Experience Lead, Raf Hamaizia and Javaid Razzaq, Activity Coordinator at Cygnet Hospital Bierley. Originally started at Bierley Hospital in Bradford, the ambitious project seeks to establish further social hubs across Cygnet’s properties, transforming underutilised spaces into modern, fully equipped social and recreational spaces. These hubs serve to provide a unique kind of off-ward non-clinical space, which aims to reduce restrictions on service users’ access to the vast amount of media resources now available in the modern age, in a safe and supportive manner. Additionally, it will provide staff with a valuable resource to promote meaningful engagement and better activity planning.
