New Assessment and Triage Unit opens at Ivetsey Bank Hospital

We are pleased to share that Ivetsey Bank Hospital, a child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) hospital based in Staffordshire, has now opened the door of the Glazewood Unit – a six-bed Assessment and Triage Unit (ATU) for young people that has been commissioned by Toucan, the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative.

The Glazewood Unit has been developed to provide a safe and responsive space for young people, aged 12-17, experiencing a mental health crisis, particularly where an inpatient bed is not immediately available, or another setting is no longer appropriate.

The service offers a short-term place of safety, often accessed out of hours, where young people can receive timely assessment and therapeutic support.
