Transfer of NHS Parkview Clinic Services

A mental health facility for children and young people has been transferred from Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust (BWC) to Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWP) to strengthen and streamline care.

The change in organisation to manage Parkview in Moseley, Birmingham, will not affect the services patients receive and will be delivered by the same clinical teams, ensuring continuity of care.

The move means that Parkview will now be part of an organisation that specialises in mental health care, which is hoped will provide the best opportunity for future improvements in the quality of care.

Matt Boazman, BWC Chief Executive, said: “Everyone at Birmingham Women's and Children's would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to our colleagues in our Tier 4 Mental Health Services at Parkview. They've lived our values of being ambitious, brave and compassionate throughout their time as part of our Trust.

"The professionalism and commitment to doing the very best for the children, young people and families they care for and support, whilst also improving the service, has always been evident. None more so than over the last 12 months, whilst plans for this transfer have been put into place.

“We know this will continue as they start the next chapter of their journey with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust."

Mary Mumvuri MBE, Chief Executive at CWP, said, “We are pleased to deliver this important service for children and young people across the Midlands. Our focus is on providing high-quality, compassionate and specialist mental health care that supports young people to recover and thrive.

“We are delighted to welcome the existing team at Parkview to our Trust, ensuring continuity and stability for the young people using the service. Together, we will continue to build a service that delivers the very best outcomes.”
